About Life Strategies
Established in 2015, Life Strategies Counseling Services has grown from a one-woman operation in Rochester, New York, to a group of experienced, highly qualified clinicians that provide counseling services for adults, adolescents and children in the Western New York and NYC areas.
The therapists at Life Strategies Counseling Services offer individual, couples, family and group therapy sessions in-person (at Life Strategies Counseling Services offices), virtually (video, phone), and remotely in your home (or a community-based location). Evening and weekend appointments are also available.
Our goal is to provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, person-centered services that focus on healing, wellness and overall well-being, and to mirror our commitment to providing professional, high-quality services to people of color.
Our Therapeutic Approach
Using an eclectic approach that integrates aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, person-centered therapy and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), our therapists will help you recover from the life challenges that get in the way of you living the very best version of your life.
In treatment, you and your therapist will address a variety of feelings and stressors. Your therapist and you will start with an initial assessment to clearly define your short and long term goals for therapy and these goals will be to create a strategy for you to attain the life you want.
Your work with your therapist is always collaborative. At times, your therapist will be a quiet advocate or active listener and at other times, they might more encourage you to consider another perspective of yourself and your circumstances. Your therapist is also always working with you to help you integrate the various aspects of your life, knowing that what affects one part of your life also affects the other parts, and that the most effective treatment takes into account the good and the not so good "stuff".
We believe that this approach allows you to gain a better understanding of yourself, your life experiences and your circumstances, and encourages your ability to rise above your challenges and move towards the life you truly desire with confidence.
